Almost everyday I am asked by readers about the possibilities of employment in Thailand and what job opportunities await them.  I used to reply to people individually but that started to get rather time consuming so I then started to send out a form reply instead, something I am loathe to do, but something which was virtually enforced upon me by circumstances - the devil of my life - a lack of time!  If only we could have an extra couple of hours per day...

Anyway, I feel that there are a huge number of people who read this site who are searching for employment in Thailand, and I also know that a heap of people who read this site are not only employed locally, but many are actually employers locally.  So what I would like to do is provide a "jobs offered board" for any employers in Thailand who are looking for staff.

All jobs offered should be positions where the company or organisation is primarily looking for a Westerner to fill a position.  Remember, it is fine to specify nationality, age and sex when you advertise for jobs in Thailand, so such ads do not break the law, as they would in the West.

Exactly how this page develops remains to be seen, and its existence, indeed its hoped success, depends very much on people supporting it.  So come on you employers, let me know what positions you have on offer.   I am happy to list pretty much anything from jobs in the oil industry, to computer related jobs, teaching positions, voluntary work, pretty much anything.

All I ask is that a genuine position exists and your company is not simply fishing to see who is out there.  I also ask that you let me know as soon as you have either cut off applications for the position or the position has been filled.

It would be good if you could specify the following, although at this time I am happy to run pretty much whatever ad you may send in:

*  Where in Thailand the position offered is.
*  Duties involved.
*  Whether a work permit will be provided.
*  Salary range and any other benefits.
*  Pre-requisites including credentials or experience required or preferred.

PRTR was established in 1990 and is an independent Thai/British joint venture company that based its operational and sales structure on its successful British partner. We were originally established as a company providing permanent recruitment services and have expanded to become a complete supplier of HR and Business Process Outsourcing services. The Software / Multi-Media Manager will report to the Managing Director and will be based on the 18th floor of Ital-Thai Tower. The responsibility of the Software / Multi-Media Manager falls into the following areas:

1. WEBSITE MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT

Five internal websites and a number of customer existing retail and staff management sites.

2. DATABASE MANAGEMENT AND UPDATE DEVELOPMENT

We are currently finishing a database for effective candidate searching. This has been in development for 2 years is in use internally and the web based external version 2 will be introduced in 2 months. Languages are ASP Net, Visual Basic and SQL. This needs to be introduced and maintained.

3. BANNER, GRAPHICS, ADVERTISING

Responsible for all development of banner adverts, website artistic development, advertising image and all other image related media. Originality linked to speed of development.

4. ONLINE ADVERTISING OPTIMISATION

Responsible for maximizing the web positioning, identifying online banner advertising opportunities and recommending online advertising opportunities to sales teams.

5. FUTURE PROJECTS -

The development of other interactive sites from June 2009 and introduction in early 2010.

Person Requirement

The Software / Multi-Media Manager will have the following skills:

1. Perfect English (Native English Speaker).
2. Artistic / innovative ability to introduce new ideas quickly into PRTR.
3. Application and commercial understanding and the ability to liaise with customers from time to time in support of Sales or HR Client Services.

TICKET SELLER - added 7 March

My nightclub Mint Bar in Samui is looking for ticket sellers.  We are offering excellent rates of commission, 150 baht per ticket.  It is possible that a good seller could earn 5000 baht+ per day.  There's no limit to how many people can go around selling the tickets, and people can do it at their own pace.  It's entirely up to you when and how you sell them, but the best way seems to be along the beach.

Each ticket is 600 baht.  Keep 150 and give me 450. The ticket entitles the holder to a wristband which gets the owner unlimited free drinks from 10pm-2am

The drinks on offer are Singha and Chang beer, Vodka, Gin and Rum + mixer, Selected Cocktails such as Mai Tai and Kamakaze and Spy Wine Cooler. It's a great deal and the advance ticket sales are not difficult for those that are good at cold calling.
